An Organization Tip

Hi Stampers

I had posted this on my Facebook Page but thought it was worthwhile to post here.   You might find it handy.

Whenever I prep for an event I put all of the components for the project into a basket – card stock, embellishments, die cuts, ribbon, etc.    I always cut out extra pieces in case someone in the class makes a boo boo (I like to make sure everyone goes home happy with their projects).

After the event, I take the left over pieces and make up cards for my own use.     Sometimes that doesn’t always happen right away.    I need to reuse the baskets so the bits and pieces get put into a larger box.    To be honest, once the pieces are put into the larger box…. I am not about to figure out what piece belongs with what card.    On clean-up day, I usually separate the pieces, anything large, I will reuse, but the rest of the pieces usually gets tossed out.

Well…… using Stampin’ Up!’s clear mount cases (think DVD case), I put the bits and pieces for each card into a case, then slip the sample card in the plastic on the outside of the case.   Now all the pieces for that card is all together and the cases are easy to store.   Once I make up the cards and use all the pieces, I can slip the sample card from the front of the case and reuse the case for the next project.

OK…. Can you say a scathingly brilliant idea…… and it was all mine 🙂     If you have more supplies than will fit the clear mount case, you can always use the wood mount cases – they are thicker.

Here are some pictures to show you what I mean.

Tip Tip
I have slipped the card under the plastic on the outside of the case.     Turning the case around you can see some of the left over pieces for that card.

It is especially helpful when you have small pieces like the punched out stars.
