Painting Prep

Hi Stampers

Finally, I have started to prep the spare bedroom for painting.     This is where my craft room use to be.   I have to admit, I put nails / shelves / hooks on any spare wall I could find.    I did silly things like adhering sticky-backed double sided velcro to the walls so I could hang cork tiles.   It looked great while the cork tiles were there.   Then I tried to pull off the velcro.   In some cases part of the wall came with it.     Needless to say I have a load of prep work to do on the walls.    I don’t mind painting (actually like it), it is the prep work I hate.    That is the main reason why I have been putting this chore off.   But, if I don’t do it before I go back to work, it won’t get done for a while.       I am trying to eliminate the amount of mess to the rest of the house so gathered everything in to the middle of the room.     I am not worrying about the carpet as it will be replaced when I am done.

And the status on the roof.   All is good.   Elvis came out today and checked it out.    He said it sometimes happens that condensation will freeze in a cold snap.  Once it gets warmer it can drip back in.    The embarrassing part was when he took down the vent cover.    Can you say dust!     And if you are curious, yes his name is Elvis.  He was referred to me a few years ago and in the past year I have referred him to at least 10 others who have all had him do their roofs.     With roofers, it is all about referrals.

I am taking a break right now to have lunch and realized that I hadn’t posted all of December’s Club cards.    Here is the first project.     For all 3 projects for December’s Club’s we focused on easy to do, quick, Christmas Cards and a Gift Card Holder.

Holiday Scene – December 2016 Club Card #1

It is hard to see in this picture.    The image was stamped in Pear Pizzaz multiple times.   The same image was then stamped again in Mossy Meadow multiple times.   Before stamping we adhered the circle that was punched out from a spare piece of  Whisper White with a bit of snail.    Once we stamped the image, we removed the circle piece and popped it up with Dimensionals.   Then we used the Crystal Effects and Dazzling Diamonds to sparkle up the popped up piece.   I think one of the lady’s in the Club needed a winter themed Birthday Card.   Instead of using the Season’s Greetings I dug out a Happy Birthday stamp and it worked perfectly.
