Are you a “Ruler Girl”? The first class I ever took for card making was at a LSS. I remember the instructor calling me a “Ruler Girl”. At the time I didn’t really understand what it meant – but I have learned. Basically it means I like things squared off. I am not much on free flowing. I try – but I can’t seem to pull it off. Even when I look at samples, I gravitate towards cards that are “squared”. Heck, even when I look around my house, my furniture is placed “squared”. I am proud to call myself a “Ruler Girl”.
This is a perfect example of a Ruler Card. It is using Stampin Up’s Classy and Fabulous stamp set. The shopping bags/boxes and the Poodle (what-you have never seen a pink poodle) were stamped, coloured, then cut out and popped up. Hope you enjoy my Ruler Card.
I hope to play some more during the week. I am taking a weeks vacation in honor of my birthday – kind of my birthday pressie to me. I have some other things planned – some not so exciting – some exciting and some tres, tres exciting. I will keep you posted.

I love this card – she doesn’t look like a “ruler girl” (too funny) to me. I think she lives life on the edge of the ruler…
That pink poodle RULES!!!
I love the squared off look too, but I try to step out of my comfort zone. I think I’d die without all of the measure marks on my trimmer 🙂
Definitely a “ruler girl” myself! I’ve tried to break free, my I am who I am! May it straight, symmetrical and all lined up for me. However, I LOVE ooohing and ahhhing over the funky, layers-everywhere look too. So maybe someday! Really a fun card! Love it.
I am probably NOT a ruler girl, at least I don’t think so- but you know they say we are in denial too. This card is great and if that is what you get being a ruler girl- I am fine with that!
Beautiful Card!! Love the stamp you used.
My brothers birthday is tomorrow and my nephews on Wednesday. Happy Birthday!!!
Cute! I like how you put the accessories and the dog in the corner.
I am also such a ruler girl. I have the Perfect Layers tool so I can even, precise mats around everything. And I always have a ruler handy to measure everything so that I know it’s even from all sides before I adhere it. No eyeballing it for me! I have a friend who can just cut and put things down and eyeball stuff and her cards are fab. But I try that and it actually stresses me out more than measuring.
My birthday is this week too. HB to you!
I love this set, wonderful card!
LOL I must be a ruler girl as well! I just like things linear!
Really cool card! I like how you made the bags and the poodle off the main image. I also love how squared off it is! (LOL)
Another ruler girl here…love this image and the way you colored her! 😀
