Hi Stampers
Apologies on being a bit AWOL. You can all relate to things getting out of control at this time of year. BUT.. the good (great) news is I am officially off work now until January. I hope for lots of food, drink and merriment with a BIG dash of creativity during this period. 2 more presents to buy and I am done. Oh.. except I haven’t finished my own Christmas cards yet!
Last Thursday was our annual Christmas lunch at work (which is organized by the Admins, there are 6 of us). This year it was for 306 people. Lots of prep work, skits, singing, prizes and of course food. Here is a video of what it looks like (before peeps – there would be too many heads to blur). It is a lot of work to put together but I think everyone enjoys it. There may be video of me signing…. but I am NOT going to post that !
Friday was our Department Pot Luck… and it is growing every year. I didn’t count how many participated but it was probably close to 70. I co-ordinate it with loads of help from others in the department. A bit of a hiccup for me.. on Friday morning I went to pull out of the driveway, got a few houses away and realized I had a flat tire. I backed into the driveway and called a friend (she lives the next street over) to pick me up – loaded her car with pressies, cookies and meatballs and headed to work . I figured I would deal with the car later… after all, I had a potluck to set up 🙂 It is a fun time. I love that people grab their goodies and then scatter throughout the department – grouped at tables, in conference rooms etc. enjoying the time together . I worry every year if we will have enough, the variety, etc… but it always works out. (faces blurred to protect the innocent:))
Laurie drove me home after work and her hubby stopped by to try and fix the tire. No go. So yep… I left the car in the driveway again because I had a crew coming on Saturday morning at 10:00 am for Club Day and I had things to do 🙂 Woke up Saturday morning and finally called CAA at 8:15, they were at my house at 8:40 and changed my tire to the spare. Turns out I had a big (huge) nail in my tire. I finally headed to Bramblea Tire when the Club left at 12:30 and had the tire fixed and replaced.
Guess what I am going to do today…. Yep… PJ’s & Coffee. Let the vacay begin. I did say I was “officially” off work, but with the last few days of work being hectic, I may go in again at some point to clean up things that I didn’t get done. No guarantees though.
So… who wants to see the last Club Card for November. Unfortunately the Sleigh Ride edgelits are no longer available 🙁
I will start posting December’s cards this week.
