Hi Stampers
Ok folks… the Dance of Joy will be performed, I have a 4 day weekend this week and it makes me VERY happy. People asked me what I was doing….. well, I am going to get up early, grab a coffee, turn on the sprinkler and sit on the patio and watch the grass grow. I am not “really” going to watch the grass grow, but I love being home and not having to rush in/out. I am going to weight in at WW’s (8 lbs left to go), run some errands, do some gardening and if you are curious… yes I will be making some cards…. (surprise…. not). I can’t tell you how much I look forward to that part of my day when I can go into the studio and play.
Some of you know that I live pretty close to work. If you are checking in to the blog and are from the same town…. can you smell the manure! I try to walk at lunch time and today I took my IPOD and went for a walk around the block… the smell of manure was very strong. I thought the lawn maintenance guys had sprayed liquid manure on the grass. But I got home tonight and went to bring in the garbage bins…. whew. I know we live on the edge of farm land… but wow.. it is strong!
But I know you came to see what the card d’jour is. This is another card using the Best Birds stamp set and the co-ordinating thinlits, Birds & Blooms.
Isn’t this purdy? Check out that Glimmer Paper.!!! I used the Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper then spritzed it with a mixture of Marina Mist and Rubbing Alcohol in a Stampin’ Spritzer. It was a light mist just to give it a blue hue. I could have used Pool Party (colour of the DSP), but I already had Marina Mist in the Spritzer….. and it worked! The Stampin’ Spritzer’s are a great value. They can be found on page 180 of the 2016/2017 Annual Catalogue, #126185 – $4.00 for 2. Fill them 3/4 way to the top with Rubbing Alcohol then drip ink from the reinker into the Spritzer. The number of drips depends on how much colour you want. It is a great way to put a wash of colour onto card stock. The Rubbing Alcohol dries quickly so there isn’t a lot of drying time needed. Spritzing from high above gives a more even coat. Practice for the look you want.
Here is a close up.
It is hard to see in the picture, but the birds wings were covered with the Wink of Stella Gold to give it some sparkle.
