Thank you to everyone for your birthday wishes. I am home, tired and “finally” warm. So how does someone spend their 50th birthday.
She hops on a plane and has breakfast at Tiffany’s in New York City.
Note – the Brinks Truck in the picture is not for my purchases. I did buy myself a present there, but nothing worthy of a Brinks Truck.
Before leaving home I had printed a Map of Manhattan and put labels on it with all the stores that I wanted to hit. New York is a walking city. Thankfully it was sunny and the snow they had earlier in the week had melted – but dang it was cold.
And of course, no trip to New York is complete without a visit to FAO Schwarz.
It was a great day, found every Art store in New York City, had cupcakes at Magnolia Bakery in the West Village and walked from 54th to Canal Street – winding between the various neighbourhoods and of course the stores (ps…that is a very long walk!)
Today (Thursday) is going to be a PJ Day. I also bought myself a set of Copics so I hope to try them out.
Thanks again everyone.
Thanks for stopping by,

Your birthday looks and sounds like it was a lot more fun than mine. Because hubby is laid up from his surgery earlier this week, I ended up tending to his needs on my bday and then shoveling snow for 2 hours!
I haven’t been to NYC in over 10 years. I’m not much of a city girl, but there sure is a lot to do there.
Now you know how to celebrate a birthday!! I love NYC and your pics make me want to go back sooooo bad. Looks like you had a great time. Thanks for sharing the pics!
Woohoo, what a way to celebrate your 50th! And to hit every art store around, that would be tops on my list. Loved your photos, thanks for sharing. And don’t worry about the copics, they DO take time to learn. There are lots of tutorials out there. Have fun with them and be patient.
Thanks for sharing your birthday pics with us, looks like you had a great time. enjoy your Copics. I love pajama days!
Elizabeth! WOW! You just made MY dream a reality! I’ve LOVED Breakfast at Tiffany’s since…well, since I was a little girl (it’s one of the reasons my name is Holly…it’s one of my mom’s all time fav movies and she passed that love on down to me!) I’ve ALWAYS wanted to go to THE Tiffany’s (we have one here in CA, but come on…it’s just NOT the same, you know?) Anyhoo…I’ve got a 40th in a handful of years…perhaps I could try and get over there to celebrate myself! Congrautlations on having a Happy B-day – and hope you continue to pamper yourself (those PJ’s sound cozy) and enjoy your new Copics (we’ll be anxiously awaiting viewing what you do with them…)
Lucky gal you are to celebrate in NYC for your 50th! You flat did it in style! I have one approaching in a few yrs; I might just have to swipe your idea! LOL!! Happy Birthday!
What a wonderful way to celebrate your birthday. New York is a great city to visit and explore. We went two years ago, we were there for a week, and there is still so much more to see….
Wow Elizabeth! What a great celebration party!!! I’m glad you had fun and these pictures are a testiment to how much fun you had! Thanks for sharing them with us… and we’re glad you had a happy birthday!
