Let’s get this day started. Playing slots while waiting for our Breakfast reservation, stopping off to get our Conference Bags, then heading out to the Pool.
It is Cabana Day. When I decided to attend BackStage, I wanted to spend a day at the pool – and do it in style! I rented a Cabana for myself and the Silver Sisters (a group of Canadian SU Demonstrators that have teamed together since 2017 to support each other – we all started as Silver’s but have promoted to Silver Elite and beyond). It was also the day for the Welcome Reception. I couldn’t think of a better way to rest, relax, and enjoy each other’s company before the conference started.
I didn’t win at the slots, but I did win at the Pool. Myself and another Silver Sister had originally rented Public Pool Cabanas. These were cabanas that were at the public pool. The morning of Cabana Day, we both got called from the Concierge that we were upgraded to the Private Pools Cabanas. Pick me off the ceiling.. I was excited.
The first picture is of the Cabana we were originally assigned… the second picture is of the Private Pools Cabanas.
The best part, all of the Cabana’s at the private pools were occupied by Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators. How fun is that. One of the reasons we were moved is that Stampin’ Up!’s Welcome Party was at the pool later that night and the resort needed the area to set up. The Cabana came with a fridge (with a stock of waters), safe, TV, fan, couches, misters at the entrance of the cabana and a fruit tray… oh and two Cabana Attendants. We ate, drank, lounged in the sun and bobbed in the pool for most of the day. We did have a rule…. no bathing suit photos 🙂
Of course we decorated the Cabana with some Canadian flags and had a special swap to give to our International visitors.
Check back for the official start to the Conference and the Welcome Reception.
