Greek Isles Incentive Trip – Let’s get going!

Thanks for stopping by today.   Finally, what everyone has been asking me about, the Greek Isles Incentive Trip …. and what it is really like.     I like to chronicle my travels…. kind of like an electronic scrapbook.   It is always good to look back at fond memories and relive them.

Tuesday July 2nd, we headed out to Rome.    We went a few days early to to do some sightseeing before starting the cruise.   Colleen had never been to Europe before and well… who doesn’t want to spend extra time in Rome… right?   A lot of Demonstrators did the same thing, and there were other Demonstrators on the same flight.    It was a pleasure to meet Eldona (she is an inspiration) and to meet up with a Demo Friend, Mary.   Note, it was freezing on the flight… once we landed the jackets soon came off 🙂

We stayed at a small hotel… I think it is the oldest hotel in Rome.   It isn’t the Ritz, might need a lick of paint, but you can’t beat the location.     It is reasonably priced, especially for the location, has air conditioning, is within walking distance to the major sites and has THE BEST rooftop bar around.     And the staff are the best.    It is called 9 Hotel Cesari.   I had stayed at this same hotel as a solo traveller 10 years ago and they were so good to me back then… and they are still great.    Rumor has it that they will be doing renovations in January 2020… hopefully it doesn’t loose its charm.   

It is right beside the Temple of Hadrian and a small piazza, Piazza di Pietra     There is a laser light show every night at dusk at the Temple, and some small cafe’s in the square, perfect for the afternoon Aperol Spritz!      Come out of the hotel and 300 m to the right is the Trevi Fountain and 300 m to the left is the Pantheon.

The Hotel arranged for a driver to pick us up and we were lucky that our room was ready when we arrived.   A quick change and off to see some sites.

And then finally to the rooftop bar for an Aperol Spritz and snacks.

 

There is a fun Store in Rome called Bartolucci and luckily one of the locations is just around the corner from the Hotel.   Everytime I am in Rome, I stop by to enjoy the sites and sounds.

 

 

It has been a long day of travel.  Tomorrow we are on an adventure and have to be at the Train Station for 7:00 am.
