Hi Stampers
I really haven’t been anywhere but my laptop was being held hostage at the Apple store for 10 days. Prior to that it was 6+ days of phone service with Apple Care. The problem has been fixed and it is working beautifully. I learned my lesson from years ago and have two bits of advice:
- Backup, backup, backup and
- Extended warranties on computers is a wise investment
They had to replace bits in my computer but when I picked it up last night the problem was still there. They ended up having to wipe my computer clean and reinstall the software from new (Safari had issues). Luckily I had a back up on my Time Machine and when I got home last night Apple Care walked me through the process of installing my pictures, contacts, etc. So far so good.
What have I been doing for the last week. Well…..in our town we get unlimited garbage pickup a couple time a year and I am taking advantage of it. I have been purging my closets, cleaning the basement, getting rid of STUFF and finding stuff that I had put down as “lost”. I know unlimited garbage days are not very exciting, but combine that with trips to the dump and Goodwill, it is a nice feeling taking care of stuff that I have ignored for a long time.
It hasn’t just been about garbage though. I have also been working on cards for Terra Cotta Home and Garden. They have added a second location and I have been busy stocking up both stores. With Mother’s Day this month, Communion, Confirmation, etc. they have kept me busy. I love it though as it gives me a purpose to be creative.
I have also been working on my Open House scheduled for next Saturday. This is to kick-off the New Catalogue. I received my shipment of catalogues and can’t wait to share it with you. I have been working on my Display Board. It will have samples of cards and paper craft ideas that you can make with items from the new catalogue, both returning stamp sets and new ones. I am also working on the Make and Take, my Thank You gift to each of my Customers, putting together the goodies for the Draw and sorting out some of the retired product that will be available for purchase. (I keep changing my mind on the ones I am putting up for sale.)
Now that I have my computer back, I am working on my Newsletter and hope to have it out later today (Saturday).
In my quest to use up old card stock and contraband items, here are a couple of cards I made this past week.
This is using the Retired Daisies #2 Sizzix Die, Crumb Cake and Basic Black card stock. The ribbon and patterned paper is contraband. I am doing a great job of using up retired and contraband stock.
This card base is on Very Vanilla with a flower from the Mixed Bunch stamp set. The strips of Designer Series paper (retired) have been weaved together. Another great way to use up bits of paper.
Thanks for stopping by. Check out tomorrow for a sneak pick of an item on the Display Board.
