I finally dusted off my sewing machine

By | December 26, 2015

Sometimes my mind is all over the place. If I could just reign in some of the crap going on up there I think I would be so productive.

I look at blogs, samples, sketches, challenges and I think… OMG I HAVE to try that. Let’s be realistic though, we can’t try everything – or can we?

I was at the LSS on Friday and they now carry Hanna stamps. I saw this cute image and HAD to have it. Then I was looking through some blogs and cards on SCS for inspiration and noted that a lot of people sew on their cards. So I HAVE to try that. Mind you the sewing machine has been tucked away in a closet for over a DECADE!

Well, I dusted off the sewing machine, inked up my new Hanna stamp, got out the Copics (because I need all the practice I can get) and came up with this card. Hum…. I think I like sewing on the cards.

Well my week off work has come to an end and I have to go back on Monday. I ended my birthday celebrations (yes – it was a week long event!) with a facial and hour long massage. Tomorrow it is back to the real world tomorrow. Kind of sucks – I love being off.

Very cute! And I love the stitching. Isn’t it funny how something so basic can add so much to a card? Love it!

Great card! I love Hanna Stamps and especially the Riley’s. I intend to get my sewing machine from my Mom’s after I move and start sewing on cards. It really looks great!!

I keep wanting to try sewing on cards, but find the idea a little overwelming. Great job on your card, I love Rileys and just received a package from Hanna Stamps yesterday. Sorry you have to to back to work!

What a great card!! I’ve yet to try sewing on cards but I love how it looks on your card! I also really like the layout – everything comes together in a wonderful eye pleasing placement.

Very cute. I’m a huge fan of Rileys. Don’t have this one yet though.

I used to be quite the seamstress but haven’t sewn much in years. I don’t sew on my cards. It’s a cool look, I think I’m just too lazy to get the machine out and clear a big enough space on my desk to set it up.

Your facial and massage sound great.

LOL! I know exactly what you mean about your mind being all over the place – I also know what you mean about being off work. Just think of the possibilities of having all that time to harness all the creativity and create beautiful cards like this one. Very cute!
Now where is my sewing machine….

This is so cute! I love to use my sewing machine on cards (that is the only reason why I bought it), but most of the times I forget to use it. Your card is gorgeous.
