It is all about left-overs

By | April 9, 2009

I made an amazing chicken stir-fry yesterday. I had used a Toasted Sesame vinaigrette (new for me) and it was delicious. I couldn’t wait to get home tonight to have the left overs.

And tonight you are all getting leftovers as well. Just not as delicious. I had made this card earlier in the week when I did the other one like this. And well… It just doesn’t “thrill” me. The question is… what do you do with cards that you just “don’t like”. Do you actually use them? Take them apart and rework them? Toss them out? If I love a card or technique, I usually make one for my file/records. But the cards I don’t like also go into another pile – and it is growing!

So you may be thinking “why post it”?. Cuz folks I was lazy tonight. I had no gumption to make a card to post, so … you are getting left-overs.

Have a good one.

I dontate a lot of cards, so those I am not happy with go in that bin. I find people LOVE a homemade card no matter how horrid I think it is!

    I love this card, btw!

I love chicken stir fry and next time I’ll come over to dinner. Cards I don’t like . . . I’m so bad, eventually I just throw them away. We’re moving in about a year and I really have to reduce clutter, so I pitch them.

I usually try to re-work things I don’t really care for. If that doesn’t work then I just put it in with all my sample cards and cards I’ve received. I just cant’ bear to toss them, but I probably should. My pile is getting pretty big as well.

The cards I’m not crazy about, I usually set aside for a while and then go back to them with fresh eyes. Often I can look at it again and add something that makes it better. I mail a lot of cards to homebound seniors and don’t do a lot of bulky embellishments on them because paying extra for the postage would limit the number I could send out. They are happy to be thought of and receive mail. Since they aren’t crafters they thing homemade is great and they aren’t as critical of my stuff as I am!

I try selling the ones I am not crazy about. If they don’t sell after awhile I end up taking them apart and I usually work it into something better.

I use an ATG tape gun so there is no taking any cards apart. It’s even hard with my un-du. I usually use them for RAK’s because in all reality, the cards aren’t as bad as the maker thinks!:) And everyone loves getting homemade cards.
