Hi Stampers
I use to work part time at Michaels (it was my play money). Oddly enough, not all the Sales Associates were crafters. One of the Managers use to tease me and said “I had crafting issues”. What she meant was that I would dabble in a little bit of everything and spent my paycheck on crafting items. I think that most crafters “have issues”. 🙂
For me I started knitting, which led into cross stitching, then onto needlepoint. I loved the look of the needlepoint when it was framed, but it took way too long to finish a piece. So I decided to dabble in painting (quicker than needlepoint/cross stitch) but you were still able to frame it. I started playing with oil paints, then water colours and of course folk art painting. Wait……. Did you know you can paint on paper too. So why not try painting on a scrapbook page and I finally ended up with making cards. Tossed in amongst all of that was doing some floral pieces at Christmas and don’t forget the cake decorating course and making jewellery. I think I hit every department. I guess I do have “Crafting Issues”. It could be worse.
It isn’t a card, but here is a piece I painted for my sister. I really did enjoy Folk Art. Unfortunately most of the studios have closed up. Everything has a cycle…. including crafting

Nice blog. I never saw the old look, but it looks great now. I’ve dabbled in many of the crafts too – cross-stitch, needlepoint, quilting, watercolor, now cardmaking. The piece you painted is lovely. It is funny to see the latest trend by walking through the aisles of Michael’s. Sometimes, before I decide to start a craft, all the materials are on close-out, so you know it’s over. Oh well, some form of papercraft id always ‘in’. 🙂
I love this type of stuff, don’t do near as much detail but love the tole painting. Thanks for showing it is gorgeous.
