Snow, snow Go Away

By | December 26, 2015

Well it is April and we should be saying Rain, Rain Go Away but in the great white north we are changing that to Snow, Snow Go Away. I have already had the winter tires taken off my car and put the shovel away. I am putting my foot down though – I am refusing to shovel. So there!

It is funny how productive you can be when you don’t nap when you get home from work. I finished off some more Easter cards. I didn’t have envelopes the right size, so I cut down some other envelopes and made flaps with the DS paper that I used on the card. They turned out cute. This idea was from one of the swaps I received at regional. I needed magnets for the flap so I found round discs for the top flap and then magnetic tape to put under the DSP. Yes, they have magnetic tape. It is thin like regular tape so you can’t tell it is under the paper. I found it at M’s. Of course I can never make just one card – here they all are.

Here is a close-up of one of them.

Here is the inside.

If you have gotten this far – I am too excited. I found a ladies group (they are married and husbands don’t travel, divorced, widowed and single) that plan trips from Toronto to various places throughout the world. Well they have a trip to Tuscany for 10 days in September. I signed up for the trip today. There are 12 women from ages 45 – 60 on the trip. There are cooking classes, wine tasting and tours in the Chianti region and in and around Florence. I had hoped for a trip that included Rome but couldn’t find anything in/out of Toronto. I am “thinking hard” about staying on a few days after the tour to spend it in Rome. I would be on my own though and am not 100% sure about that. I need to do some more investigating. Overall though – too exciting! I will be saving my pennies and hopefully selling lots of cards to help fund the trip.

Overall a pretty productive day. Have a good one.

What fun cards!! I didn’t know about magnetic tape! Brilliant idea, also keeps the bulk down on the cards.

Tuscany?? WOW that will be quite a trip! We will certainly expect pictures.

Oh, Elizabeth, WoW, WoW, WoW! First off, LOVE these darling cards! I want to make one (or a dozen!) Do you have a tutorial? Also, I’ve never cut an envelope and made it fit a different sized card – HOW do you do that? I really need to learn that one! I’ve used magnetic strips before, but it’s not too thin – I wonder if I need to make a trip to M’s…LOL! And THEN – Tuscany! Holy Moly! That is SO exciting – have you ever seen the movie “Under the Tuscan Sky”? It’s pretty good – and what a tale…Just the thought of your 10 days sounds wonderful – can’t wait to see some pics on the blog or whatever happens to inspire you from that trip in your crafting. I’d say you had a ‘pretty productive’ day, and then some!

Does that work? Should we all do a sun dance just to make sure? Are you really going on that cool trip? Can I just say I’m jealous? Can I post anything except a question? Maybe not? 🙂 Cute little peepsters.
