So last year (2008) my Resolution was to “adopt” a Nursing Home / Seniors Residence. What that meant was to bring some activity / gift / trinket to the residences on special occasions – St. Patrick’s Day, Valentines, Easter, Mother’s Day, etc. etc. etc. It ended with Christmas. As a treat I had a local bakery make up 65 Gingerbread Men and 65 Sugar Cookie Snowmen. I am pleased to say that for the first time ever – I was able to keep a New Year’s Resolution. Not only did it benefit other’s but I also enjoyed coming up with things for the various occasions. It was also very rewarding personally.
If I continue with the Nursing Home activity – it no longer is a Resolution but a way of life. That means I need a new Resolution for 2009.
I have the standards….
1. Exercise (which I am pretty good with – except the last two weeks)
2. Eat better (which I am terrible at – if there are cookies and chocolates in the house who needs to cook)
3. Save more (enuf said – we all have our vices)
I am also going to add two more….
4. Spend my craft budget wisely (oh wait – how about stick to the craft budget)
and last
5. Keep the blog updated -at least once a week
There you go. I think I have my work cut out for me. What are your Resolutions?
My niece asked me to make some Baptism cards for her. I finally sat down yesterday and came up with a couple of ideas. I am going to make one more and then she can choose from the three. So far my fav is the Gatefold one. The stamp set is SU’s Buggies and Booties. It is retired, but I will never get rid of it. I hope she is happy with what I come up with. I was honoured that she asked.
Well folks – it is a sad day at my house. The Christmas Tree and Holiday decorations are coming down. If it was socially acceptable (and I had a huge house) I would keep up the decorations all year. Just think – you could decorate the tree for the various holidays, hearts on valentines day, little leprechauns popping out of the tree for St. Patrick’s day, eggs for easter, etc. etc.
Have a great day and remember
Take Time to Stamp.
