Strawberry Salad – an amazing recipe

By | June 23, 2009

I just finished dinner and thought I really should share this recipe. Dinner consisted of Chicken (pretty basic) but I also had a Strawberry Salad with it. I promise (hand on heart) that if you like Strawberries you will love this recipe.

One head Romaine lettuce
One head Red lettuce
1 purple onion (chopped)
1 quart strawberries (chopped)

Mix this all together.

Dressing:

1/3 cup milk (I use 1% but it could be 2%)
1/3 cup sugar
2 tbsp white vinegar
1/2 cup Helman’s Mayo

Mix this up together real well. The “original” recipe also calls for Poppy Seeds. But, when I had my braces they were a pain – so I dropped the poppy seeds.

If you want you can put the dressing on the salad – but I usually keep it in a separate bowl and add it when I have the salad. I can (and do) eat this every day.

Note – sometimes (often) when I don’t want to buy two head of lettuce I just use one type or get a pre-cut package. It is DELICIOUS! PROMISE!

OK… now on to why some of you visit my blog – Card du Jour. Unfortunately this set (Wagon Full of Fun) is another stamp set that is in LaLaLand. It was in the Mini but didn’t make it to the Catty. The sentiment is from the new Teeny Tiny Wishes.

Have a good one.
