Ever since I started making cards I have been taking pictures of them. More for a reference for myself than anything. I can go back and see what cards I have done in the past and maybe rework them, tweak them a bit or maybe an old card will bring some new inspiration.
I was cleaning up the pictures on my computer and found some of my first cards. Yes I will be honest and say that I am NOT posting the very first one because it is really really bad. The one I am posting is bad enough. I can remember making the card and not knowing what to do – everything is awkward about the card, the layout, embellishment, lack of detail, etc. But we all have to start somewhere – right?. Go back and look at some of your first creations – you will be in awe of how you have grown. We have all come a long way baby.
Have a good one.

I like that stamp, it is pretty! And yes, I cringe when I look at my first cards. My family never knew what to say when I asked them their opinion of those first feeble efforts . . . “Hmm, yes, that’s a card.” My husband said he often was at a loss for words. :)You’re a brave one!
Yeah I can relate but like you say we have to start somewhere and I just think we are growing.
It is interesting to compare where we started and where we are now, but I am sure whoever got that card loved receiving a handmade greeting.
I love this card! I am packing to move and came across a lot of my very first cards. YIKES!! I’m almost embarrassed to think I sent things that looked that bad. Oh well, luckily I have grown. At least I hope I have 🙂
Oh you were brave! I hate going through my SCS gallery back there to the early ones… it’s amazing how much we have all learned… and acquired… let’s face it.. having cuttlebugs, nesties, dp, lots and lots of embellishments… etc…. all really help!!! And I don’t know about you but my first photos stunk too! I didn’t have any photo editing software and tried just taking them on my counter… wrong! So that’s come a long way too! Thanks for the trip down memory lane!
