Wildflower Meadow, two unique ways to use the same stamp set

Hi Stampers

Thank you to everyone that came out to the new catalogue open house.     I had a lot of retired stamp sets up for sale.    Those that haven’t sold will be posted on the SALE page on this blog.    Once it is ready I will send a message to everyone and make it public (right now it is private while I am working on it).       I will keep it up for a bit (maybe a week).   Then I will be putting them on e-Bay. Remember…. the prices listed on my Sale page do not include shipping.  If you are not local that will have to be factored in.   Sorry folks I can only sell them in Canada.

There is one spot left for the Stamp Club.   It starts June 15th and occurs the 3rd Saturday of every month 10:00 am – 12:00 pm.   Currently there are 6 and the Club it will go from June to November.  If we get one more it will go from June to December.      Each month we make 2-3 projects (depending on the level of difficulty).   Your commitment is to spend $35.00 (based on 6) $30.00 (based on 7).   We will pick names on the 15th to determine the Hostess Rotation .  Each month one of the group will receive the Hostess Benefits.    It is a fun time and a great group of ladies.

Want to see what I did with the new stamp set, Wildflower Meadow….. Check out this Candle Shade.   It is a battery operated flicker candle.   It is hard to see the light through the paper, but INL (in real life) it is a thing of beauty.   I was pretty happy with the outcome.   It started as a bit of an experiment… sometimes they actually turn out.    By popular demand today (at the Open House) some of the ladies asked if we could make the Candle Shade (below) at one of the Clubs…. so you know that will be an upcoming project.

Here is a picture of a card I made using the same stamp set, Wildflower Meadow by Stampin’ Up!.   It also uses a stamp from the new Hostess set “Banner Greetings”.   Two totally different looks / projects using the same stamp set.    My goal this Stampin’ Up! year is to come up with new / inventive ways of using what I already have.   Let’s see how that works for me 🙂

Thanks all for stopping by.   I will be posting full pictures of the cards I made for my Display Board.   If you didn’t stop by to pick up a catalogue, let me know and I will make arrangements for you to get a catalogue.

    Hi Elizabeth
I just love your candle lamp, and would love to know how to make it, if you wouldn’t mind sharing. I am a Stampin Up Demonstrator in Australia with no upline, so I would really appreciate it.

    Kind Regards
    Wendy

Wendy, I sent you an e-mail with the instructions. Anyone else interested see below.

For the candle, you need to measure the circumference of your candle and add an 1/2 to 3/4 inch. For the hight I added an extra inch above the top of the candle. Depending on the circumference of your candle you might get two or three images stamped on the vellum. I got 2 images. Stamp the image in Versamark and heat emboss in your colour (I used gold). Stamp again and emboss. I stamped the second image right beside the first image. Don’t worry about the image lining up perfectly on the bottom you will cover that up with DSP or cardstock. Just make sure the image goes to the top of the vellum so there isn’t blank space on the top. I put a piece of sticky strip down the side of the Vellum. Wrap it around your candle and pull the sticky strip off and secure. The Vellum cardstock is pretty thick so you don’t see the adhesive. Not sure if you have Sticky Strip in Australia, you could also use ScorePal tape if you have it. Then I cut a piece of gold card stock, punched a decorate edge on the top and wrapped it around the bottom of the vellum – basically covering any uneven stamping or where the image didn’t go right to the bottom. I wrapped some Burlap ribbon around the gold card stock to finish it off. Of course I used a battery operated flicker candle.
