Hi Stampers
Don’t you hate being an adult sometimes? When I look through the glass half empty, I don’t like being responsible for maintaining the car, dealing with house stuff and the stress of working full-time. Then I look through the glass half full and I am grateful I have a vehicle, a house, roof over my head and a job I have been at for 27+ years. But sometimes I just want to turn it all off and not be a responsible adult. Enuf said. To my happy place I go…. Colouring:)
I finally got my laptop back yesterday (yeh)…. and I have a card to share.
I have been showcasing so many new products lately that I don’t want you to forget there is a slew of amazing stamp sets that returned from last year. When I got home yesterday from 1) dealing with a check engine light 2) picking up a broken laptop 3) negotiating cost of a new fence (the responsible adult stuff), I wanted to empty my mind. So I picked up the “You’ve Got This” stamp set. I needed to colour and this is the perfect flower to do that. The tones on the picture are a bit off… the paper looks like Very Vanilla but it is actually Whisper White. I bought a new lamp and didn’t realize it came with a warm bulb…. I need to change the light. The petals were coloured in a combination of Wisteria Wonder, Elegant Eggplant and Perfect Plum. The centre was done in Daffodil Delight. The centre was then highlighted with the Gold Wink of Stella and the rest of the petals were highlighted with the Clear Wink of Stella (I love that stuff!)
Here is the full card. I stamped the flower directly onto the card then stamped another flower head and fussy cut it out and popped it up. When I put the Happy Birthday banner on the card it looked too “flat”. So I stamped the stem / leaves in Always Artichoke on Old Olive and fussy cut it out. I placed it so that part of it went over the Happy Birthday banner. Giving it a more flowing look.
