Good news all around and some Christmas Treat Samples….

By | August 2, 2009

Yesterday morning I had to be at the dealership at 9:30 am to get my car serviced. It is located in uptown Toronto so I decided when I was done that I would head to downtown Toronto to have lunch with my Sister’s MIL at the hospital. She had her meal and I had a sub. We had a nice visit. The good news with her is that they will not have to operate. She will probably be transferred this week to a rehab hospital – I think they are looking at her being at the rehab hospital for about 6 weeks. Note to my American friends – Health care is a good thing!

More good news – I was able to retrieve all of my pictures and most of my files. Unfortunately what wasn’t retrievable were all my bookmarks. I am a creature of habit. I was use to the way my computer was set up, where the files were located, bookmarks etc. I will go to do something now and it is in a different place or missing. I am slowly starting to save the bookmarks but can’t remember some of the sites I use to visit. It will take a while. I will make sure to backup everything on a regular basis now.

I wanted to be creative today – but not so much. I was suppose to get samples done for an upcoming class – instead I made some Christmas treat items. One of them is using Stampin Up’s Matchbox Die. I filled it with Hershey Kisses.

The other is a super simple box found HERE. The original post was from 2007 but it is so cute and simple to produce. The only problem is – I ate way too many Peppermint Patties 🙂

Have a good one.

This is such a cute idea! Even without the box, the fancied up peppermint patties would be a great treat for anyone!

glad you retrieved all the photos…you’ll have to look into saving all of your bookmarks online every so often (I need to do this too!!).

I love the little treat boxes – I made the altered peppermint patties for my mom a few years ago & she loved them!! Now I have an idea for a holder 🙂

These are really cute. I especially love how you decorated the peppermint patties. I love peppermint patties and would have eaten far too many of them too. but they’re so dang good!

That is such good news on both fronts! That computer problem alone would have had me eating ALL of the peppermint patties (forget actually creating something CUTE with them, the way you did!) I know what you mean about creature of habit and those bookmarks, though, I love knowing I’ve got my places “saved” where I want them and can find them! Good luck in getting all of them back where you want them to be!

Oh these are so cute! I’m afraid I’d be eating those goodies too… patties and kisses… if they have chocolate, consider them GONE! Totally cute ideas! I’m still struggling with my computer too! Recovering from a crash is a forevah thing I guess! I gave up on a lot of stuff and am just trying to learn the new one, which is totally different! Hope you get comfy with it soon!!! Hugs!

Cute stuff! I love Christmas projects almost as much as I love Peppermint Patties.

Happy to hear about your computer – I live in fear of that happening.

Cute treats! Love that box with the penguin on it.

It’s great you were able to save your pictures, I lost a lot of mine earlier in the year.

The projects are very cute and I adore Hershey’s kisses! Glad to hear the news about your sister’s MIL that there will be no operation. I’m sure she appreciated your visit, how kind of you! And yay for computer retrieval.
