My trip to the “Mother Ship” was so much fun. I arrived in Utah Friday afternoon and waited for Mona’s flight (my room mate from Texas) to arrive. It was nice to have someone navigate the way from Salt Lake City Airport into Draper. We found our hotel, unpacked and went to dinner at Virg’s. It was a diner type restaurant and had great fish / chips. We took a drive to check out Draper then headed back to the hotel. We were both pretty tired. We knew that the next day was going to be long!
Up at 6:00 am the next day, the two of us headed to breakfast at 7:00. The breakfast room at the Springhill Suites was full of Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators 🙂 The doors at Stampin’ Up!’s offices opened at 8:00 am so after breakfast we headed to SU’s home office. It is a beautiful facility. The general session was held in the warehouse. It was set up with a stage and two big screens. Shelly is so inspiring, genuine and warm. The day was filled with inspiring demonstrations, WOW presentations, make and takes, an amazing lunch, swaps, display boards, Prize Patrol (these are too much fun) AND the new catalogue and shopping. You know I can’t tell you anything about the catalogue but it is fresh, colourful and fun. After we did our shopping, we headed to La Hacienda for Mexican food. Then we headed back to the hotel with our new catalogues, post it notes and highlighters. My catalogue has lots of flagged pages with “wants”.
Sunday we slept in a bit, went for breakfast then headed to the airport. Mona was on a Delta flight and had to check in at Terminal 2 and I was on a United flight that checked in at Terminal 1. It turned out that once we both checked in and went through security, our gates were close to each other and we ended up sitting together again until my flight departed (mine took off before Mona’s). Salt Lake City to Chicago, 3 hour wait, Chicago to Toronto. Home at 1:00 am. I am so happy I took tomorrow off. I just might play with some of my new stamps 🙂
I received some really nice swaps and will post some of them over the next few days.
Here are some pics.
Prize Patrol is so much fun. Throughout the event Stampin’ Up! flashes a bunch of names on a screen, the music is thumping and everyone is pumped. If you are one of the lucky names on the screen you get up, hoot and holler and get your freebie. Sometimes they have the word “everyone” on the screen, then we are all dancing and shouting…. because we all get the freebie. This is Mona with her prize patrol freebie. I had to crop the picture because it is one of the new sets. Sorry guys 🙂
This is the atrium at the Home Office. They really do know to put on a great event. The general session was set up in the warehouse but the Make and Takes and lunch were held in the lower section of the atrium.
Check out this view. This was taken from the front door of the Home Office. The mountains are still capped in snow. Beautiful.
Thanks for stopping by,
Elizabeth, Your Stampin' Up! Demonstrator
