Swirly Scribbles Frame, Stampin' Up!

Hi Stampers

I am LOVING the Swirly Scribbles Thinlits.    This is definitely one of those sets that you need to just play with.    I am a “ruler girl”.   Love things evenly spaced, lined up, angular – and have a hard time with “free flowing”…. so yes working with this set is a challenge for me.   But I am loving it – it is definitely taking me outside of my comfort zone.     My suggestion is to die cut the images on scrap paper / card stock and just play with the swirls / images.

The Scoop

  • Swirly Scribbles Thinlits
  • Silver Glimmer Paper
  • Painter’s Pallet stamp set (for sentiment)
  • Unfinished wood frame
  • Black paint
  • Foam brush
  • Thick Whisper White card stock
  • Black Memento ink
  • Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

The Deets

  • Paint the frame with black paint of choice.   All I had on hand was black chalk paint and it worked perfectly.
  • Cut out lots of Swirly Scribbles with the Silver Glimmer Paper.
  • Arrange them on the frame as you like.    Lay some over the edges.    I cut the edges off after glueing them on.   Save some of the cut off pieces to use elsewhere on the frame.
  • Using the Multipurpose Liquid Glue… dot, dot, dot small amounts of glue on the Swirls.  (Avoid big globs).    Lay them on the frame one at a time.   I used the edge of my paper snips (rubber part where your thumb goes), to press the glimmer paper onto the frame and make sure the glue makes contact with the frame.
  • Snip off swirls that go over the edge of the frame.
  • I also used an old make-up brush to brush off any stray glitter.
  • Stamp the sentiment (or put a picture) in the centre.
  • Easy, Peasy.
