Hi Stampers

I have a tip for you on aligning the Varied Vases with the Punch.   I am busy working on an upcoming Class using the Varied Vases stamp set and punch and wanted to share with you a tip.    I tried playing with the set yesterday and had multiple Vases to stamp and punch.   I was wasting a lot of paper.   I tried a couple of different things yesterday and it wasn’t working.     I woke up this morning it was an aaahhhhaaa moment.    I got it.

I have a series of photos with an explanation.     This tip will be really useful for mass production or class settings.   You can use a clear block or the Stamparatus .     And… it can be with any punch.    Yes… 11 years of being a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator and I “just” figured this out.

Punch Alignment Tip

Step 1

Use a square piece of card stock and punch the vases.   If you wanted to include the Tulip and leaf you would use a larger piece of card stock.   I used a darker piece as it was easier to see (for the next step).   I originally used a piece of Whisper White and it didn’t show up as well.

Step 2

Take the Vase stamps and lay them over the cut outs… with the back of the stamp facing up.   The side you stamp should be down and fit inside the punched out images.   (You now where I am going with the now… right?)   This is a similar technique with Framelits to ensure the stamp maintains the same shape as the die.

Step 3

Yep.. you know.   Know place your clear block over the stamps to pick them up.

Step 4

Flip the block over and remove the card stock.

Step 5

Stamp the image on a piece of card stock that you are going to use for the final vase.

Step 6

Insert the card stock into the punch.    It is easier if you leave a bit on the bottom of the stamped image so you have something to hold onto while aligning the image.

Step 7

And… punch.    You need to keep a firm grip on the punch so it doesn’t slip.

I know… someone else has probably figured this out already, but it is new to me.    Hope it works for you.

Now back to working on the Class using the Varied Vases Stamp Set and Punch.    This is going to be a cute class called “Bucket of Cards”.    10 Note Cards in a fun tin buckets.     Add a pen and stamps, wrap it up and you have a fun gift for someone special.    More to come on the class.
